Van Niekerk Properties was originally started by Jannie van Niekerk who grew up and farmed in the Bedford district. His vast knowledge of the area and his business ethic and integrity was admired and appreciated by all who dealt with him. Seven years ago he invited his daughter-in-law Kim to join him in his business. After passing the Estate Agents Affairs Board Exam Kim embarked on making a difference to the dying residential property market in the small villages in the Smaldeel area. At the end of 2006, Jannie retired at the age of 83,and Nadine Dixie was asked to join the business. She passed her Estate Agents Affairs Board exam and became a partner.

Today Van Niekerk Properties is owned and run by friends and partners Kim van Niekerk and Nadine Dixie.  Their vision extends further than providing a professional service and finding the client the perfect home; they are passionate about uplifting communities and marketing the surrounding villages as destinations.

Kim is married to Ian and lives on the family farm Albertvale near Bedford. She has vast knowledge of all tourism activities, adventure activities, accommodation and community projects in the district and in the surrounding towns. Networking is her specialty and it is invaluable in helping the prospective buyer find their niche and the ideal home. Kim has also been in the district for over 23 years and her family originally hails from the Cradock district. She was one of the original instigators of the annual Bedford Garden Festival and was the chariman of the tourism organisation at the time of its inception. Kim also runs a small heritage rose and herb nursery from home.

Nadine, who is originally from the North Coast of Natal, moved to the Bedford area just over 12 years ago when she married Angus, a farmer in the district. Angus and Nadine are 5th generation Dixies residing and working on the family farm Havelock Holme. Nadine has a passion for property and property investments. She keeps abreast of the current cycles through attending courses and gathering information from banks and media.

Both Kim and Nadine are dedicated to providing a professional but personal service to those seeking a country lifestyle. They realise how fortunate and priveledged they have been to live and raise children in such a safe and uncomplicated environment where community and caring still reign!
